This research raises the topic of Design and Construction of an Automatic Safe Lock Using a Fingerprint Sensor Based on Arduino Uno Type R3. A safe is a storage medium designed to maintain the security of valuables, both belonging to individuals and organizations, to protect them from the threat of loss and theft. A problem that often arises is the use of mechanical keys that are vulnerable to loss, easy to duplicate, or break into. Therefore, a more modern, practical, and difficult to counterfeit security system is needed. The development of microcontroller technology has opened up opportunities to automate various devices that were previously operated manually. One innovative application is the integration of biometric technology, especially fingerprint recognition, which has a high level of accuracy and can be used as a substitute for physical keys. In the designed system, the authentication process is carried out by reading the user's fingerprint pattern that has been stored in the database. If the data matches, the solenoid-based locking mechanism will open automatically. Conversely, if the fingerprint is not recognized, the safe remains locked and the system will activate an alarm as a form of warning. The implementation results show that this system prototype can function optimally, providing a better level of security than conventional methods, as well as increasing efficiency in safe operation.
